Towers Of The Virgin

Zion National Park is full of wonders. The valley is surrounded by towering walls including the Towers Of The Virgin. As I walked through the scrub brush in the field, my shoes got wet from the dew. I set up my tripod and camera and waited to see what the morning would bring. Suddenly the sun peeked through the clouds right over the canyon wall on the opposite side of the gorge. Amazing golden light flooded the peaks in front of me. Clearly visible was the shadow of the rim of the other side of the canyon. So now I had gorgeous light over top of gorgeous fall color trees. The time to photograph was now. I quickly decided on a panorama in order to not capture the scrub brush in the foreground nor too much of the clouds. I wanted the focus of the image to be on the mountains and the wonderful color. As quickly as it appeared, the sun went behind the clouds and the color was gone. I walked my wet shoes back to the car happy with the scene I had just captured.
