Through The Valley
Open Edition
This scene was hands down the most beautiful I have ever encountered, and I have seen a lot of scenes. I was in Acadia National Park rushing around trying to find a second composition for the sunset. I decided to go to the top of Cadillac Mountain, but on the way up the mountain I quickly entered into the clouds that went all the way to the top of the mountain and then some. So I went through the parking area and started back down figuring it just was not going to happen for me that night. On the way down suddenly I broke through the clouds and everything was crystal clear below me. And what I saw was amazing! The sun was flooding through the valley just below the storm clouds and was lighting up all the autumn trees. I pulled off the drive at the closest pull off I could find and rushed to get the camera and tripod set up before the sunlight faded behind the storm clouds. The whole scene lasted less than 5 more minutes before the sun went behind the clouds. I got back in the car and continued down the mountain hoping for a repeat but it was not to be.
