Blue Hour At Folly

Open Edition

I often find that I like shooting deep in the blue hour, I like the combination of slow shutter speeds and gorgeous soft blues. This pre-sunrise trip to Folly Beach, SC did not disappoint with its blue hour performance. The long exposure in this image blurred the breaking waves creating almost a sea of ice. This exposure ended up being 46 seconds to give you an idea of actually how dark it still was. I was able to capture the reflections of the lights on the pier in the wet sand. For some reason the seagulls were going nuts this morning making quite the racket. But between the gulls and the waves it was a very tranquil beach experience. Walking alone on the beach before dawn and the crowds is something I highly recommend to everyone!
